Title: Lago Mar Country Club - Plantation, FL

Lago Mar Country Club is located in the City of Plantation, Florida along the I-595 corridor.   The Club is planning an 8 million dollar overhaul of the existing golf course facility during the summer and fall of 2008

Lago Mar is a stand alone golf club with the majority of the residential development separated from the course by water.  During the 2007 calendar year, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) approached the club about creating an additional 20 acres of lake on the Lago Mar property to be used as water storage as part of a I-595 expansion project.  It is projected that an agreement will be reached between the club and FDOT by February and that the 8 million dollar redevelopment project will begin in April 2009.  The majority of the course will be elevated creating more a rolling terrain with elevation differences that will make Lago Mar unique to the area.  The 20 acres of additional water will be created in such as fashion that there will be no self contained ponds allowing for the open flow of water throughout the property.  Accordingly, there will be more than 20 bridges throughout the course.  The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2009 and open by the end of the year.
