Title: The Falls Country Club - Lake Worth, FL
The Falls Country Club needed a plan to improve their aging green complexes and add some visual character and better definition into the golf course. In 2005, The Falls retained Kipp Schulties to develop this plan with the implementation of the first phase during the summer of 2007. The Falls Country Club completed the first phase of their master plan consisting of a complete green and bunker complex redesign during the summer of 2007. The second and final phase is pending approval by the Board and is tenataively projected to begin in either 2010 or 2011.
The Falls Country Club boasts unique rolling terrain and well contoured greens not commonly found on most other Florida golf courses. This original Joe Lee design was in need of new greens, an influx of visual character and a new signature 16th hole. That portion or the overall golf course master plan was implemented with great success during the summer of 2007 capped with an outstanding 16th island green set in front of large waterfall. The balance of the master plan is being discussed for the summer of 2010 or 2011.
The Falls Country Club in Lake Worth, Florida is one of the few stand-alone golf courses in Palm Beach County having no homes within or around the course. The result is dramatic visual improvment, a much needed "balancing" of the course, improved startegy and increased the playability on select holes. The new bunkering style provides a great visual enhancement for players and strategically introduces a little more "bite" into what was considered a wide open golf course.
