Current Projects
Kipp Schulties redesigned the popular North golf course during the summer of 2005. Greens complexes, tees and bunkers were all rebuilt to aid flash, flair and playability to the aging track for the modern game — a necessity since Quail Ridge has more than 100 single-digit handicappers and members of which some that have played in the U.S. Open, Masters, U.S. Senior Amateur and Senior Open tournaments. The course was re-opened in November 2005 and also included the re-grassing of fairways using SeaIsle 1 paspalum that provides a bright green color year-round without the need to overseed.
Current plans include the development of a new 3 acre short game facility to be constructed during the summer of 2008. The new practice facility will allow for a variety of different type bunker shots to a specific "bunker" green with another chipping or short range green providing players with shots ranging from 20 to 80 yards. The new complex is expected to open by Thanksgiving of 2008.
Upon completion of the new practice amenity, Schulties will then be given the responsibility to develop a new master plan for the renovation of the South golf course. It is projected that the South golf course will commence construction activities during the summer of 2010 or 2011.
