Quail Lodge Resort and Golf Club - Carmel, CA
Quail Lodge Resort is nestled along the banks of the Carmel River just three miles to the east of the town of Carmel, California. A long time member of the top luxury resorts in the world, Kipp Schulties has been consulting with Quail Lodge for nearly ten years on both short and long range plans to upgrade the resort golf course.

The world-renowned Peninsula Hotel, the parent company of the Quail Lodge Resort, engaged architect Kipp Schulties in 1998 to embark on an ambitious plan to put the resort back on the golfing map. They wanted a course that maximized playability and appearance using modern design and construction methods while considering the daily play that local members provide. To date, two master plans have been drawn up and the 6th hole has been dramatically reconstructed. The remainder of Schulties’ plan awaits Monterey County permits and the initiation of the resort’s golf redevelopment phase. The plan includes minor alterations in the routing and radical improvements to the course’s character with changes in course elevations and visual appeal. It is anticipated that the plan will be implemented during calendar year 2010 or 2011.
