Fort Lauderdale Country Club - Plantation, FL

The serenity, privacy and playability of the North golf course at Fort Lauderdale Country Club has been negatively impacted by several factors over the past several years.  Hurricanes have taken a major toll on the playability and character of each hole with the loss of trees.  The installation of new City water lines and wells that use the water table under the two golf courses have created a huge patchwork of construction areas resulting in modifications to the golf course with marginal results.  The on-going expansion of the Florida Turnpike continues to eat away at the privacy of the Club by expanding ever so close to the 13th, 14th and 15th holes.  Combining these factors with USGA putting greens on the North golf course that were not constructed properly in the previous renovation created the need for a comprehensive plan to improve the course.

Kipp Schulties worked with the Club during the summer of 2006 to develop a plan that was ultimately approved.  Schulties has since developed all the detailed plans and design documents for a planned future redesign project.
